Zacatecas is off the beaten track, so not many foreigners come here, except for special events. One thing that Zacatecas is famous for is its silver mines. Later on, I learned these arches were part of an old aqueduct system. (This post also includes a couple of video clips.)

Filed under: Zacatecas; Tagged as: mascaras, masks, museums, pink rock, quarried, roadside memorials, silver mines, world class art, ZacatecasNo CommentsI arrived in Zacatecas at around 8:00pm on Monday and I got a taxi to take me to the hotel (La Casona De Los Vitrales). One thing that immediately impressed me was the architecture of this place. The second thing that got my attention – hardly any cobblestones at all. The next surprise was my hotel. Only one word describes it – beautiful.
