    If You Have A PayPal Account

     

    This morning I opened my PayPal account and went to make a payment only to find out I couldn’t do so. Undaunted, I called tech support and spent over an hour on the phone trying to figure out the problem.

    Eventually, the issue became clear, since I hadn’t set up a travel profile before I left Canada (and I had no idea I needed to do this), the PayPal algorithm determined my account was unsafe and it wouldn’t allow me to make a payment. Worse, in order to make this work I’d have to return to Canada to set up the travel profile. PayPal won’t allow you to do it after the fact.

    The only way to deal with this problem is to get the person you want to pay to send you an invoice. Once you receive it you can pay it.
