A couple of years ago, I was getting ready to go on another trip to the US and Mexico. In preparation, I wanted to get myself a new phone, one that would be quad band (4G) and would support chips that I could install in each country, instead of having to buy a new phone. How to Deal With Fragrance Allergies in Mexico

Filed under: Nathan's Travel Tips; Tagged as: allergies, detergents, fragrance allergies, no bleach, no chloro, no fragrance, no suave scenta

Why a Dictionary is Necessary When Shopping in Mexico

Filed under: Nathan's Travel Tips; Tagged as: alpiste, alpiste mixto, dictionaries, dictionary, labels, mixto, translations

In Mexico, not unlike any other country, people have different words for things, like this package above, which we found in the rice section at Wal-Mart. From the look of it, we thought it was wild rice and didn’t think anything more about it – until tonight.

One of the things you’ll encounter on the streets in Mexico are these open electrical boxes by the sides of houses and businesses. And of course, one of the things that will cross your mind will be: “Is this thing live?” My answer? Probably.
