How to Write a Joint Venture Letter

As mentioned earlier, there many ways to approach a potential partner. Here are a couple of template letters you can use.

    JV Intro Letter #1

    Dear potential JV partner,

My name is Nathan Segal and I work as a freelance writer.

I spent time on your Web Site looking at the posts and posting some comments.

I really like what I see and I would like to explore the possibility of working with you.

I run a Web Site called www.freedomfreelancewriting.com. I show freelance writers how to find high-paying writing jobs. I recently wrote a book on the subject and I would like to send you a free copy for your perusal.

You can download it at: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

    Nathan Segal

    JV Intro Letter #2

    Dear potential JV partner,

My name is Nathan Segal and I work as a freelance writer.

I spent time on your Web Site looking at the posts and posting some comments.

I really like what I see and I would like to explore the possibility of working with you. I was thinking that some of the articles I write could be used for a guest blog post.

Another option is to promote a book, which I just finished that shows people how to create a successful career as a freelance writer. The title is, Secrets of Profitable Freelance Writing.

In this book, I reveal everything I know about getting work online and developing long-term relationships with magazines and editors.

If you would like a review copy, please let me know and I will send a complete download your way.

I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to call me at (408) 844-4851 so we can discuss this further.

    Best Regards,

    Nathan Segal

    Notes

Both of these letters use a low key approach. At no time do they discuss money, potential commission or marketing plans. The purpose is to give the other person time to consider what you have written and to ask for more information. Later on, you will be able to discuss marketing.
