    Homeless Again: By Choice

Before I go any further, I want to thank my friend Burt for letting me stay with him and for helping me in my financial recovery. Unfortunately, there were some problems with the environment which I couldn’t resolve. I felt it was better to leave and I did so, even though it meant sleeping in my car again, which I did last night.

Once again, I was beset by the same anxieties I experienced the first time I slept in my car, and it was difficult to calm down. Eventually, I fell asleep due to sheer exhaustion and slept relatively well.

Before leaving Burt’s place, I did my best to find another place. I posted several ads on Craigslist, Kijiji and Used Victoria. Unfortunately, nothing worked, so I thought I’d post in my blog, which has been helpful in the past. Here’s the text of my ad:

Wanted: Freelance Writer/Copywriter Looking for Immediate Accommodation

I’m looking for a small one-bedroom, studio or trailer (camper) from now (June 19) until October 31st. I’m looking for a place with cooking facilities and Internet as I need this for my work. I’m quiet and reliable. I don’t have any pets, I’m drug and alcohol free, nor do I smoke (anything).. I’m 54 and I have great references.

What I’m looking for is a work/trade situation. Here’s what I can offer:

    • Advertising/copywriting for marketing, such as business cards, brochures, sales letters and marketing reports
    • Internet marketing for an online business, including website design and configuration, shopping carts, setup of an autoresponder and implementation of an email marketing campaign.
    • Studio photography and retouching of photographic images and the ability to build web galleries.

To see what I can offer, visit Nathan Segal’s Business Portfolio.

I’ve been a home owner in the past and I’m able to handle light repair work such as: Painting, basic plumbing, some electrical and cleaning. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
